This month is critical to the work we do and the person-first practices we undertake. We understand that no two people are the same and, when it comes to care, one size doesn’t fit all. Individuals with autism and their families deserve the right to be heard, their experiences need to be validated and they’re entitled to choose their own treatment paths. At Catalight, we believe in fostering collaboration with and inclusion for everyone. Despite progress in understanding autism spectrum disorder, many individuals still encounter significant barriers to access, inclusion and structural equity. This month – and beyond – we invite you to join us in our journey to strengthen autism acceptance. Let’s work toward breaking down barriers, promoting understanding and creating a more inclusive society. Together, we can create a world where everyone is valued and accepted for who they are. Catalight Exhibits at Becker’s Spring Payer Roundtable Catalight attended Becker’s Healthcare Conference in Chicago for the first time to understand the challenges that payers have in the behavioral health space. The event presented an opportunity to connect with industry leaders and explore innovative solutions that could reshape the landscape of autism and intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) care while breaking down the barriers to access. Catalight Publishes New Practice Guidelines Leveraging current research, the Catalight Practice Guidelines, published last month, outlines our treatment hour recommendation and outcome measures for behavioral interventions with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related intellectual and developmental disabilities. The guideline also addresses parent-mediated care as an important treatment option for families to consider on their path to wellbeing. Nina Rudnick Receives Frontline Honors Vice President of Diagnostic and Psychological Assessments Nina Rudnick, Psy.D., was named a 2023 Frontline Honors honoree by Behavioral Health Business. As a winner in the ‘Behavioral Health’ category, Dr. Rudnick delivers exceptional experiences and outcomes. She was lauded as a passionate professional who puts innovative vision into action while advocating for people with intellectual and development disabilities, their families and the industry. Ways to Give to the Catalight Foundation The Catalight Foundation announced a new program that allows people to give to I/DD and autism research and support in multiple ways. The ‘Ways to Give’ page offers donors flexibility and convenience when gifting with tax benefits. Options include donations of stock, IRA charitable distributions, matching workplace campaigns and more.
