Removing barriers and biases along the career journey for candidates with developmental disabilities. According to a recent study, only about 33% of adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) secure a job or pursue further education after high school. In addition, approximately 80% of individuals with ASD or I/DD are unemployed or underemployed which means they do not have a job or are in a job that does not match their skills or interests. Compass Work provides participants with a fully integrated set of modules and elements used from initialassessments to securing the position. This person-centered service focuses on the participant’s strengths and interests and provides a skilled career coach to guide them through the search process. Candidates will work on a variety of skills and tasks such as searching for the right job, negotiating and accepting job offers and building relationships.
